When both sides stop speaking truth, nonsense becomes law—and the people pay the price. - your Conservative NuyoRican, Peter Vazquez
I’m gutted—Jim Quinn, the roaring lion of liberty, is gone, and it tears my heart apart.
On Next Steps Show, I join Bob to pour out my grief for a legend who owned the airwaves with fearless truth. But I’m not just mourning—I’m raging.
I shred the spineless sanctuary city insanity strangling Rochester, calling out the gutless cowards in charge who’d rather shield criminals than save us. And the GOP? I’m screaming at them to wake up while New York chokes on chaos!
This is my battle cry for Quinn’s legacy—a raw, unfiltered, soul-shaking call to fight back.

Speaker 1 (00:18)
Buenas
tardes ladies and gentlemen see happy Monday welcome to the work week because hey what house are we supposed to be doing in order to earn some Mola see because I'll tell you what it's a lot easier to get up and go to work than it is to get up and catch a bus and go over to 620 St. Paul or West Fall I'd say maybe I'm wrong
Speaker 2 (00:40)
What do you do in those two locations?
Speaker 1 (00:43)
But you know, from what I can tell, and I've only been through there, I really been in there, although I have been to Westphal in previous years, you do a lot of waiting for somebody to call you. And then I noticed that when they call you, they don't even treat you like a human being. It's almost like, like, sit down, shut up, and what's your need? And then you say, want, and then they say, well, here, let me cut you a check, and don't forget to vote for Hocus Pocus.
Speaker 2 (01:09)
OK. So this is like political patronage that you have to like line up for.
Speaker 1 (01:13)
Well, the thing is this, 620 West Fah is one of the welfare offices, or around 620 St. Paul, and then West Fah is a welfare office. Yeah, those are political patronage places. Of course they are. They're not helping anybody.
Speaker 2 (01:25)
Wow, what a world,
Speaker 1 (01:27)
Hey, what a world. you know, though, I definitely want to kick the next few over to you, sir, because the world that we live in, right, is a little less today because we lost a strong voice. And I really appreciate you letting me be part of this discussion.
Speaker 2 (01:43)
in
this segment. Well, i but I'm happy to do it be know, over the weekend, our Jim Quinn passed away. U a very dire surgical situ February with eyes wide o 82 that this is kind of And I remember one of was, you know, this this m
we find and it may not be outcome that we all want. But Jim accepted the Lord a little over a year ago and he's been in church with Rose Tenet who is his business partner and best friend. Strictly platonic, they're just friends and business partners.
Rose is a very devout Christian and she led Jim to the Lord and he accepted the Lord as his savior. And his sentiment as he headed into this procedure on the 7th of February was, you know.
this may work out for the and for the people who lov and it may, it may wind u in heaven and he said, I' way because because he has his heart and his soul to that was the last thing he February after the procedur intubated and he had been
that he loved me. And we were truly brothers from different mothers. He's a great friend. Our friendship went back more than 50 years.
and we've been through so much together. I don't want to bore you with all that stuff. But he did pass away Saturday night, Rose called and let me know that, you know, the last two or three weeks, Peter, got to say, you know, he was still on the ventilator and an 82 year old who's been on a ventilator for seven weeks. Generally speaking, they don't come off.
Speaker 1 (03:51)
Yeah,
you know, I dealt with something similar to my father, but I do want to point out how that generation and their love for God country family really takes right up until their deathbed. I mean, my father had the same philosophy. He's like, listen, I want to contribute. But when God says it's time for me to go home, I'm OK with that. Or this, you know what, Bob, I just I truly appreciate people like him. Now he was on here. How long was he on YSL? He had the war room, the morning show.
Speaker 2 (04:17)
Yes, he was with us for 19 years.
Speaker 1 (04:20)
for 50 years on air. God bless you. I'll say it again, you're a lucky guy to know some great people.
Speaker 2 (04:27)
Beep.
no question about it. We have the greatest people around us, part of our organization and the support people, you know, all the way from, mean, I would start to name them, but it would take up the rest of your show. And we don't want to bore people because those names wouldn't mean anything to anyone. But yeah, we don't do this alone. We do it with all kinds of folks like you, for example. And over in the control room, Bob D'Angelo, who is absolutely indispensable and and on and on the folks that
our names that folks out there would know.
Speaker 1 (05:00)
over 500,000 listeners at one point from what I understand, sir. And that's what I mean. People with microphones, right? We have a responsibility and I think he expels that. And Bob, when I decided to put a show together and I came to you to do this, his was one of the shows that I, you know, kind of listened to to kind of help shape what that meant to be a radio host. And then of course I learned from you. We have a clip, I believe, don't we? Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:25)
he did a podcast or a Rose developed a podcasting business, with, with Jim's, you know, support and we provided some technical input as far as equipment and things like that. And so she has this podcasting business and she did a, she did a special project, which was the life and career of Jim Quinn. And we have an excerpt from that right now. And I'll let this.
I'll kind of set this up. This is Rose Tennant interviewing Quinn up until about 2013 or so they did a two person show. It was Quinn and Rose. But she branched off and started doing some other projects and stuff like that. But they were main business partners. But she was interviewing Quinn about his life. And I think that this cut should be fairly self explanatory. It's only a minute 22, but it's definitely worth hearing.
A lot of people wanted to hear about your background and they were just curious and you are loved by a lot of people on Pittsburgh, Jim. I mean, this has become your home basically. Of all the markets you worked in. This is the best market. I'll never go back to New Jersey. You know New Jersey where the state motto is, hey, I get. How would you like to be remembered? I don't really think about that.
Speaker 1 (06:37)
your state motto right here.
Speaker 2 (06:43)
You can remember whatever way you want to be. That is you. You don't care. That's not really true. the thing is, eventually you won't be remembered. I mean, do remember Ed Chauncey? Ed Chauncey was one of the biggest radio stars in city of Pittsburgh in the 20s and 30s and 40s. Uncle Ed, he was the guy during the newspaper strike.
Speaker 1 (06:52)
Okay?
Like, Fia-relo-re-
Speaker 2 (07:09)
LaGuardia, he would read
the comics on the air to the kids who couldn't get the comics because the newspaper was on strike. Ed Chauncey was just, he was an icon, but nobody remembers. You know, he'd go to the museum, you know, as the people that loved you die, they forget you. It's not a big deal. Everybody gets forgotten eventually. Sooner later, your life ends up at the curb. We've seen that happen.
Speaker 1 (07:37)
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:50)
I met up with him when I program director of a station in Rochester WBVF that nobody remembers unless they're 70 years old. Jim was on a similar very large station in Buffalo called WKVW and he was the music director and did seven to midnight up at KB. KB had a massive nighttime signal. It was one of these big 50,000 watt signals and you heard it from Georgia to the Canadian Maritimes at night. And WBVF
You know on a good night. It would cover greater Westfall Road I mean it was this little pipsqueak signal and I remember Quinn and I had a co-promotion had to do with the Buffalo Raceway and we were both plugging the upcoming event on our respective radio stations and their Quinn's comment was a Bob 7 WBBF in Rochester is a great outlet He says if you're ever within three feet of Rochester give him a listen
Speaker 1 (08:41)
G.
Speaker 2 (08:49)
And that kind of summarizes the kind of relationship we had. We were both private pilots. Jim was truly a scary private pilot.
Speaker 1 (08:59)
He
was also a rock music radio or DJ, wasn't he?
Speaker 2 (09:05)
see
but we were both well we both were i mean we're both top 40 dj's in the 60s and 70s and if you look at the history of successful talk people in the industry almost all of them were former you know top 40 jacks rush limbaugh being one of them
Speaker 1 (09:21)
I say I didn't know that either.
Speaker 2 (09:23)
yes, absolutely. And Rush was a friend of Jim Quinn's in Pittsburgh and Rush wanted to, you know, he was looking for a full-time gig somewhere. And Quinn got him on a suburban station called Wixie 1260, no, Wixie 1360 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, where Rush Limbaugh was the morning guy, the program director under the name of Jeff Christie.
Speaker 1 (09:47)
And then it just went, wow. You know, Bob, can I ask, how did you meet him? Did we? I don't remember.
Speaker 2 (09:54)
Just through that
mid 70s thing, know, we were both top 40 in the music industry and, know, industry.
things and co promotions and what have you. And we really became friends and had a great time. He was a big teen icon in Pittsburgh radio in the late 1960s. Big teen? Yeah, know, top 40 rock and roll type stuff. And he was the evening jock on a station down there. was owned by ABC. was one of the ABC owned and operated stations, a station called KQV. Now one of the few East Coast
stations that had a K Collider. Everybody remembered, everybody grew up with Jim Quinn in like the late 1960s. And then in the early 1960s, early 1970s, he went to New York City and then he wound up in Buffalo. And that's where I encountered him about four or five years later. But when I became the program director, I went from BBF to a station in Pittsburgh in 1977. My idea was let's hire Quinn to come down and do the morning show.
So we raided WKBW in Buffalo, hired Quintera away, brought him down. I brought him down to Pittsburgh where he was the morning guy there. And he's been there on the radio in the morning ever since.
That's just exciting to
It was a magic Peter. was a wild ride. I'm going to tell you that right now. Well.
Speaker 1 (11:29)
When the picture that that you guys posted today and the ones that you had right, know on is when you promo the show was with him with what was that an ache or no and I'm 16 lighter something like that. He was having a cigar. I loved it, but that truly
Speaker 2 (11:41)
finds what
he did that of selling it. Yeah, he actually bought a billboard for himself in Pittsburgh. He always wanted to be on a billboard. So I don't know, it's about five years ago, he bought a billboard. And he is one these great big, you know, digital display things. He had all kinds of money. He's very successful. And so he bought that billboard so he could drive by it and see himself.
Speaker 1 (12:05)
There's nothing wrong with that ladies and gentlemen the honorable Jim Quinn right here in the mornings he did the morning show as we discussed see it's people like this that have been working diligently to shape our tomorrow and why we can't stop see being that voice of liberty because we're gonna come back see and we're gonna we're gonna showcase why people like Jim Quinn right and people like well me and this next step showing the most
so important for tomorrow. be right back.
Speaker 2 (12:37)
Yeah
Speaker 1 (12:40)
Now that I've

Speaker 1 (15:31)
Thank
to a mayoral candidate. And the thing is, was thinking, man, you know, I can kind of dig some of this platform. And then we started talking just to hear something like, well, you know, I'm not gonna take the bait, whatever the heck that meant. So, you know, they make these broad statements like, well,
Crimes not down in Rochester and I'm like, well duh, we've been saying that. And of course, what did he do, Bob, when we said, is Malik lying? Is Hocus Pocus, shrugs their shoulders? No, either they're lying or they're not. You know, why not have the courage to say that? And see, Bob, that's the part that I'm just so done with, right? I decided not that long ago, but a long time ago that I'm gonna honor, right? God, and family to the extreme, Bob, I'm done being.
I believe in dialogue, but to see if you're gonna come on a show that you wanted to come on and then you're not gonna answer the questions that listeners want to hear then what's that? Listen, no one cares about some, I'm sorry, some washed watered down platform anymore, Bob. It just really, we heard it over and over and over again.
Speaker 2 (16:44)
Listen, when you get asked a question by the host, can't retreat into.
behind labels and say, too divisive. I'm not gonna answer that stuff because that's just political idolatry or some other stupid catchphrase like that. You could've asked a question. You came on this radio station, you came on this show, you're here to answer questions. You don't get to tell us you won't answer it. If you tell us you won't answer it, you don't come back on this station.
Speaker 1 (17:14)
Isn't that though, isn't that indicative or really like what Dems do all the time? I was at a second, I was at a scope meeting and at this scope meeting there were a panel of county legislators Bob and
Speaker 2 (17:27)
0-2-A-N
organization, folks. Shooters Committee on Political Education.
Speaker 1 (17:32)
I just assumed our listeners and this. That's a good point, right? And one of the legislators was one of the left legislators that sit in the county and you know he goes on and his support. So you know for gun owners and all this. So I just I asked a simple question about all I said was.
Speaker 2 (17:35)
Well, it's just a case of...
Speaker 1 (17:51)
I appreciate you, but you stand with a party and you support their policies that are completely against gun owners in this country. How can you sit there and say, just because you have a gun permit that you support us when you're knocking us down? And you know what he did? He threatened to get up and leave. I'm not going to entertain if you're just going to. And I'm like, well, it ain't my party here. It wasn't my meeting. So I couldn't be like, well, get the hell out because. Right. What's the point of you being here other than trying?
to, well, trick people. And the thing is, Bob, see, I'm not even going to just beat up on the left because we have an opportunity, and I've said this before, see, we have an opportunity here in New York State, especially with what we have going on at the federal government, to make a difference. So we know that the Democrats are full of crap, not answering proved it, right? This whole leftist bit of...
Where are the Republicans? Bob, all we got to do is look up north, right, with what is it, Congresswoman Stefanek, who now is- Stefanek, yes, Stefanek. Remember, I'm a product of the Rochester City School District, ladies and gentlemen. I just want to remind you there. But, you know, why is she not going to, she'd be a great ambassador. But now she can't be, Bob, because what, the Republican Party in New York State can't find somebody to be?
Speaker 2 (18:52)
Hispanic.
country?
No, that's not it.
Speaker 1 (19:16)
Everything I found was asked to step back.
Speaker 2 (19:20)
But not because the Republicans can't find a candidate. The problem is that Kathy Hochul, there would have to be a special election and she'll slow walk.
Speaker 1 (19:27)
Yeah, she will slow walk it. She will slow walk it. But I mean, again, Bob, I struggle with that because we as a a party who's trying to to fix things should be able to say, you know, this is going to be a tough one. But we've been preparing for this and we've got this dynamite individual that loves God country and family that will that will withstand whatever Kathy Hoco has in store, I guess is my issue with some of those.
Speaker 2 (19:55)
Congress
wants to find.
Speaker 1 (19:56)
Well, mean, the seat, the fact that she's not going to be the ambassador, right? Who cares?
Speaker 2 (20:00)
Who cares? It's stupid United Nations. The whole thing should be blown up and turned into a Trump hotel. Who cares about that dumb do nothing? That's the America hating club. We're gonna waste Elise Stefanik on that crap.
Speaker 1 (20:11)
It is, which is why.
she'd be the perfect voice to be there though. Why? She'd be the, well, because I think that she has the word with awe and the fortitude to be able to stand up against some of these four knuckleheads. So what then?
Speaker 2 (20:27)
Look,
the Security Council is just going to vote us, you know, as the scourge of the earth once again, whether or least to find things there or not. It's a waste of political talent. She's much more valuable in Congress. And let me tell you, it's really critical that we hold onto the House right now.
Speaker 1 (20:42)
it absolutely is. I am going to again, I'm going to call out on the Republicans and say, let's get our act together and put real strategy together. We should be able to withstand storms, hocus pocus and what she can or cannot do should be the defining factor on whether or not we can take. Now I get strategy. I do. I understand it. And obviously I don't have all the details. But when I read that, when I did all the research on that, Bob, all I saw was she was asked to stay back because we need to hold that seat. And I don't disagree with that. I just, again, I
Speaker 2 (21:11)
Exactly.
Speaker 1 (21:12)
sit back and as I'm trying encourage other people to become part of this great party of ours, they're like, well, wait a minute, because that's all they see is us not doing or having anything in place to be able to replace somebody as great as her. That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (21:28)
I'd be very surprised
if we don't have a qualified candidate for that seat. It's just that this is not the time to be rolling the dice.
Speaker 1 (21:36)
I don't disagree with that. I just, but neither here nor there, because you know, like I said.
when we allow people to just continue to put narratives out there that aren't right, we end up losing people. Do you know there's petitioning going on, right? And some of the feedback that I've gotten from the Republicans pushing petitions, right, have been bad, like Republicans telling them to get out of there. One person even said their life was through, and another person said that the individual that they talked to wouldn't change their registration because they want to get all the information, but they won't vote Republican ever again. That's the kind of stuff that, and again, I don't understand,
stand by except for well the left continues with their mantra and I'm not hearing anything strong coming back from the right.
Speaker 2 (22:21)
Well, some of the arguments that get advanced by the political left are not worthy of dignifying with a response. It's just crazy, hate-filled rhetoric. Everything from
let's burn down Tesla dealerships to anti-Semitism and being tolerated on college campuses. I'm telling you, I think Trump is on the right track, except he's in second gear and I would shift it into fifth overdrive. These colleges, number one, you don't get another dollar from the federal, from the feds, if you are tolerating anti-Semitism, we're encouraging it.
tacitly or explicitly on campus. That's one. And two, we're going to start taxing that endowment. Those endowments are obscene.
Speaker 1 (23:10)
Yeah,
they are beyond obscene and don't get again. I think that that's my whole point is that Trump is literally setting the playing field exactly the way we need it. Even even those on the left are starting to listen and pay attention and so forth, which is what gives us an opportunity. But let me show you the kind of things that are being said that I believe right here at least a key Monroe County, a very blue blue county in the midst of a bunch of red counties. See, this is what people are hearing that we're not countering community.
Speaker 2 (23:40)
who called my office. I then called the chief.
uh, to have him look into this matter. And, um, I'm thankful for, uh, the community member who brought this to our attention. But I just want to reiterate, this will be under investigation. I'll turn this over to the chief in a second, but our policy is clear. Our policy is crystal clear. City police officers do not help or participate in federal immigration activities. Every rpt officer, I've instructed the chief to make sure that every rpd officer, uh, receive more training on general order 502.
to ensure that all members are fully aware and fully understand this policy.
Speaker 1 (24:21)
That's
where we need the response at Bob and the thing is this is that even just this mayor Right we can look down in New York City and see the mirror or candidates that they have running against Cuomo and Adams these guys are wackadoodles And there's no counter me that will be right back right here see and I'll post the limit that to the conservative New Yorker people segura I've seen your dog

Hey, gentlemen. Hey, I just want to make a few points. Dr. Savage, I've been listening to the VEF starting back in 1972 as a little kid with an AM radio in the city. The big rock of Rochester back then. Yeah.
a lot of the shows. So, there, there, so there are so full of people that not quite as old as you that listen. And also too, I'd like to, know, condone Jim Quinn there. He's a really great guy. And actually I hadn't heard him on Pittsburgh radio, traveling through that part of the country quite a bit for my job. That's great. The second point is, what's effect of a local politics? They were dragging them out, trying to drag him out of the vehicle. This guy obviously does not have a driver's license. And for our police, our mayor and his last name, the
the chief of police are going to get somebody killed. That's pretty straight up.
Speaker 1 (32:23)
and that somebody might end up being, well, a police officer in our PD.
Speaker 2 (32:28)
Right,
exactly. You've seen, it took him 15 minutes to get the people out. You know what? think anybody else, there was you or I, and we barricaded ourselves in a car like that, okay, they would have been smashing the windows and dragging us out. Well, I don't know if he's caught that one part of the video there, Mike, where the illegal alien was getting in the cop's face and was trying to push him around.
I'm telling you. Yeah, you try that in any other country and see what happens to you You go into some dim dark dungeon and nobody hears from you
Speaker 1 (33:07)
ever Ever. Ever The mic, I appreciate the call sir. I truly do. And the thing is, ladies and gentlemen, we're going to play a couple more cuts here because you know, this whole nonsense of sanctuary city crap, it's crap. Mike Keith, thank you for calling the Next Step Show, brother.
Speaker 2 (33:27)
I'm very, very sorry about Mr. Quinn. I really am. Two points. Try to make them fast. When he said that I'll be forgotten, that right there will be the death of our republic, the same way that the mic was saying about the illegals. We have different peoples in our country now that as time goes on, they will not be respecting the law and the Constitution and our way of life. And something's got to be done about that. Secondly,
I become president on January 20, here it goes, I would have immediately declared martial law and I would have outlawed the Democrat party, demanding of still good Democrats that you put the party back together. But with all the marks in there, Malik Evans and David Smith, the police chief, they would be making up part of the 30,000 feds in Guantanamo. I would have filled up Guantanamo.
30k best in a week. That's I'm saying in closing. We are up against a dire Marxist enemy in these Dems. We have very important elections tomorrow in Westassin Florida. And people think I'm too bad in my outlook. You watch in coming years, you think our country can't change, even though our people are temporarily in office, we are headed for bad times. We don't get the Marx, Marx.
and the Democrat party fully corraled, and I mean all of them to Guantanamo. I do. Martial law is the answer right now.
Speaker 1 (35:00)
Absolutely. Keith, I appreciate the call. And the thing is, ladies and gentlemen, remember I had Mike Hennessy on, or he called actually, and we were talking a little bit about the end of times. And like Mike said, things are going to get crazy. And Keith, you know, you're right. And we're seeing it. And the crazy thing about it is, right now, especially with the left, call it what you want, but it's true. See, especially from the left, we've got these elected officials who are literally, and we saw here in Rochester,
they're picking police chiefs, right? They're just gonna do what they're told. And we saw many police chiefs just kind of changing hands over the course of just the last five years alone, right? Well, look at LaRond. LaRond's like, well, whoa, whoa, hold up here. My duty isn't to you, sir. I get you hired me. But when we, well, listen, when both sides start speaking, nonsense becomes laws. Can we play cuts two and three, please? Let me show you what nonsense sounds like.
Speaker 2 (36:00)
So as the mayor said yesterday, I was made aware of an incident that occurred on Monday night when our officers were urgently called to assist border patrol being in being a police agency in a sanctuary city. Our mission is twofold ensuring both the safety of fellow law enforcement officers while at the same time ensuring that we uphold the tenants of being a sanctuary city and protecting the rights of all the 911 center asked specifically are you requiring an emergency response and
They said yes, we would like an emergency response.
Speaker 1 (36:34)
But to Mike's and Keith's point, they're gonna get someone killed. ICE called, said, yep, you know what, Joe, I got an emergency. I need someone there. And like we agreed on Friday when I was talking to that candidate mayor, right? But when RPD shows up on site, they can't just look around and be like, ICE is there. I'm just gonna, no, you got an obligation to stay. The cops know that. That's what they were doing. And these elected officials are treating our RPD officers almost like, well, they're their own little
private minions in an army type stuff and you've got to follow these silly rules because well you can't listen to the oath that you took. I don't understand.
Speaker 2 (37:15)
Well, there's
nobody that's seen the video, the body cam video from that stop on Lyle Avenue that looks at that and doesn't say that was an emergency situation. But that that van was being piloted by illegal aliens. Yeah. And they are clearly hostile. And they were clearly, you know, first of all, we know they're lawbreakers because they're not supposed to be here. But then, you know, they they obstruct governmental and, you know, administration and they resist arrests. And that's it. You know,
you get some zip ties on you and you go downtown. That's the way that's supposed to be. But apparently Malik Evans and David Smith think that what we have to do is we have to prioritize a stupid declaration that was made in the 1980s by a bunch of self-interested politicians over constitutionally guaranteed rights.
Speaker 1 (38:07)
in a police force. See, is the politics. This is the trickery. This is why I don't believe for one second, see that that mayors or political officials should be appointing law enforcement leaders. I don't think they should. I think those should all like the sheriff should all be constitutional offices. I mean, you've got this this guy who's leading the R. D. Who? I mean, he's got to be a good cop. I'm sure he has. I mean, he became a kid, became chief, so he must have done great things in our community. But
Speaker 2 (38:35)
Is he more cop or more politician?
Speaker 1 (38:36)
that's
the point. And tha happens when you get peop right? And we're not caref because you see these c and there's the same manc right? And then we end up has, what are you sa a twofold mission. One is of fellow leels and the o the, uh, uphold the ten
Thanks.
Speaker 2 (39:08)
Well, those two things are hard to reconcile. If you want to protect the rights of all, the first rights to get protected are the rights of citizens, not illegal.
Speaker 1 (39:10)
Can we?
Before you play this cut, and I'm sorry I just I was looking at my notes and it dawned on me that see it's not just this mayor here that's that's manipulating everything within the police is manipulating these policies really for personal gain but for ideology and all these candidates that are running right are doing the same thing and I can't save the Republican candidates because we don't have a Republican mayor or candidate that anybody knows of so hey who knows but I said earlier before break Bob you go down in New York City right because mayor
is like, a minute, is, we need this, right? We are, people are dying. You got Cuomo, who Cuomo and all his craziness was leading the Marrowell race, him and Adams, right? Down there, right? I mean, all these guys. So other people decided that they wanted to run against these two because those two have too many limits, right? They still kind of believe in democracy and they do, they're focused on things like gender affirming care.
right? LGBT represent all these affordable housing but yet none of them are able to even define affordable housing just like my guest on Friday. But back to the local stuff. Let's play what's coming out because see this is this is what happens when politics tries to govern right our our law enforcement.
Speaker 2 (40:38)
So again, this is from the lieutenant directed to his subordinates. Yesterday we were called to assist with border patrol on a traffic stop. Since we are a sanctuary city, we are very limited on what we do. Yesterday the occupants refused to exit the vehicle. We were able to voluntarily get them to open the door, which the bodyguard camera does say. Once that was completed, our job was done. If this happens again,
We are not to remove people from vehicles. We are not to be handcuffing subjects. We are not to be doing pet frisks on subjects, and we are absolutely not going to be detaining them or putting them into our cars. Why? Please make sure you have your body worn cameras on at all times from the time you exit the car to the time you get back in your car. The only time we will ever take any type of type of law enforcement action is for officer safety issues or exigent circumstances.
And again, that was done the day after the incident.
Speaker 1 (41:37)
So that was a letter read by the chief of police in Rochester from a lieutenant that issued this email to his subordinates, right? day after that incident. the thing is this, that was more a, guys, CYA. How can we expect to have a city in order and crime come down when we're not addressing, right? The fact that we've created this entire, well, cops now having the CYA versus protecting you and me because.
of these politicians don't know what we got more to talk about a key in the voice of liberty and hey pick up the phone give us a call
Speaker 2 (42:14)

Speaker 1 (43:54)
If I'm gonna be servicing all
accident shows ladies and gentlemen, I want to make sure that as we go into closing the take on simple, I just want to remind you, see, like we started off, I want to make sure that as we get close to the end that we mentioned, Mira, the honorable Jim Quinn, ladies and gentlemen, one second, one second to just take right and read a little bit because when we talk about well,
Speaker 2 (44:25)
See.
Speaker 1 (44:32)
How can we emulate somebody who did great things? Mira, there's a guy there. And check it out. He's not even like, he's not even like, like, like some guy in a movie that, that thinks he's all that. He actually did it. See, humble, humble, unlike the people that we got running this city of Rochester, right? We've got Leos that are now like, my God, I'm going to lose my pension. I'm going to lose my job. You got lieutenants that are like, Mira, I could only help you so much. So mind your P's and Q's. I'm trying to tell you, cause that's really what
it's saying the inconsistencies I heard inconsistencies Bob right talking about and and and in the chiefs I think he was trying to say something kind of his police saying yes there was a call for an emergency situation they were justified in going I think he also tried saying you know the cameras show right that that they did their jobs and was able to bring people out of the vehicle by talking to them right I mean he did those things so that was good but then
We get people like, well, like Miguel Melendez. And I played a portion of this clip on Friday, right? Because this is the kind of stuff, again, that the GOP, here in Monroe County, here in Rochester, needs to be saying, dude, why do you continue to insist that? Because I'm black and brown. I need your government help that's done nothing but keep us enslaved. Can we play a couple?
Speaker 2 (45:56)
you
That's not the right thing.
What I meant to do was this. Thank you, Mayor. Thank you, Chief for swift action. one of things that I want to say as a Latino member of Council is that we are hearing in our community that there is an uptick in what I'll call driving while Latino. And regardless of local policy, we know that there's federal actions that are being taken that are creating this discourse nationally and unfortunately
I don't have the circumstances around this incident, so I don't want to assume anything here. I let their investigation run its course. But the reality is, there's a lot more profiling, a lot more disdain for being Latino right now in this country.
Speaker 1 (46:45)
more disdain for being lucky.
Speaker 2 (46:47)
in this country, where's his evidence for that?
Speaker 1 (46:50)
is no evidence. This is all hyperbole that they're using for that's an image. It's fear month. Swift. Thank you, Mayor, for your swift action and ensuring that these leos that are doing great work in our city that we're destroying right? Swift action.
Speaker 2 (47:06)
Ass kissing combined with lying. very effective.
Speaker 1 (47:09)
He says no assumptions here because I haven't seen all the evidence, right? But we do know and see the implications. That's the trick. That's that is why today I chose to say where is the pushback?
or was the immediate resp just be me or a radio hol leaders that we are elect part of a political comit position. Did you know th don't. That's not a club like the relict we used to say club. You can be part of it our elected position. So if
especially us Latinos. See, saying hold up, I don't see a disdain. As a matter of fact, guess what? Como Latino in this country, a guy who dropped out of school, like I said earlier, a product of the city school district, guess what? I drive a BMW today. Not because they gave it to me, but because I bust my tushy. Can we play cup six?
Speaker 2 (48:13)
However, I think that my message to the community is if you do see something, please make sure that you are informing.
City Council, Mayor's Office of Constituent Services, the mayor himself, because we have a policy and we need it. And we want to make sure that we are following what we say, what we put in as our position here in city government, and that to our community, we are supportive of everyone. With all that being said, if it comes out that there is a greater reason for this stop, certainly we also want to follow the law. But with that being said,
to my people in the community, please let us know if there is incidences that involve local law enforcement so that we can be sure that we are all on the same page and hold each other accountable. Thank you.
Speaker 1 (49:05)
hold each other accountable, right?
it goes back to what we'v and think all hosts on talk about it right. They h hold us all accountable s of us or those of you th what we tell you to do. hold your account. ju side. But if you disagree go there and you try to co here in Rochester, New Yo we're Latinos and blacks,
definition of the word. I agree. Anyways, Bob, you know, I'm so sick of these politicians trying to bamboozle people like people like me, Setting people against each other.
Speaker 2 (49:48)
You mean like you're setting people against each other? Dividing
us, creating fake issues, driving while Latino. Where's the evidence for that?
Speaker 1 (50:00)
There is, listen, I just.
Speaker 2 (50:03)
How many instances are they? serious are they? Where are they occurring?
Speaker 1 (50:06)
Well, they're forgetting to mention the things like what you were driving with in the car, this right? An illegal car or or or you were driving. I think so. Or you were driving, you know, you were at a stoplight and, know, the cop or the person behind you called the cops because they smelled marijuana as the puff of smoke is coming out of your window.
Speaker 2 (50:15)
Is that a crime? I that's a crime, is it not?
That's not a crime anymore.
Speaker 1 (50:31)
Well, driving under the influence. Remember, Kathy Hoco is still pushing to bring the whole, if it smells like pot in your car, we have a right to, so they're realizing all of their ways. So that might be illegal again, right? Or maybe the child.
Speaker 2 (50:45)
That says it all. That phrase. It might be illegal again. That's welcome to life in New York State. Is it illegal? I don't know. Let's go to court and figure it out there.
Speaker 1 (50:58)
Listen, we've got what three or four people running from here here in Rochester and I highly doubt that Lupien or Malik or any of them will come on the show. I mean, I do hope that the guys she had on Friday does come back to talk more about the issues because one of the advice he gave was to the dialogue going.
Speaker 2 (51:17)
What?
Speaker 1 (51:23)
Absolutely.
very
much so they won't, they won't even give you the time of day. That's the thing. And then you take people like Rachel Barnhart, who apparently has been getting paid, right? Everybody wondered how's this woman survived. People say, man, I wonder what she does for work. Well, now we know, right? You got a bunch of money through USAID as well, right? Did you hear about that? Yeah. And then that's right. But no one's asking. No, this is the trickery, right? This is the trick. You got somebody like Miguel Melendez who grew up where I grew up. He knows the struggle. He knows how hard it is to to to well,
to be able to shape a because he's the president why is he not sharing that talking about because I'm L I drive in areas that not denying that racism is I get it. People are jerk said people are messy, b getting pulled over. Never did. And every time I
living was because I invited him because of something stupid that I was doing. And in the words of my beautiful bride, you don't want the law in your life.
You know what? Do the right thing when you can. Figure things out on your own and don't get bamboozled by any of these politicians who think that you were stupid. Because quite frankly, unless you're like, well, unless you're fighting back, unless you're saying, show me you're wrong. Ladies and gentlemen, don't forget Jim Cuenaray because we need people, we need to remember people like this, see? That are leaders. Why? Because be a leader, be a leader, be a leader. Be a voice for liberty and God...
bless these United States of America.
Speaker 2 (53:18)
It's a
