Democrats have tightened their grip, securing historic victories in local races, flipping the County Legislature for the first time in decades, and re-electing a Democrat as County Executive by a record-breaking margin.
Voter turnout has slipped nearly 8% since 2020, and Republican registration has fallen so low that independent voters now outnumber Republicans in the county.
Meanwhile, Democratic fundraising is outpacing the GOP by as much as 5-to-1, fueling a political machine that is better organized, better funded, and relentlessly expanding its reach.
