Guest host Hector Sotomayor, while filling in for Peter Vazquez, your Conservative Nuyorican was joined by Amy Fawlo, the Executive Director of the Monroe County War on Terror Memorial Park. Their conversation centered around the memorial in Rochester, NY, a tribute to the heroes from Monroe County and its surrounding areas who served in the War on Terror.

The War on Terror Memorial stands as a testament to the valor and sacrifices of local service members. Hector and Amy highlighted the significance of the memorial, which not only honors the fallen but also serves as a reminder of the personal cost of war. They acknowledged the profound impact these heroes had on their community and the nation.

While they didn't individually name each fallen service member during the show, the presence of their names at the memorial speaks volumes. The names etched into the memorial include brave individuals from various branches of the military, representing a wide range of stories and sacrifices.

From the Army, the memorial honors individuals like CW3 Eric A. Smith from Brighton and SGT. Heath A. McMillin from Clifton Springs, both of whom fell in Iraq. It also includes the names of those like SPC. Michael S. Weger from Rochester and SPC. Matthew A. Koch from Spencerport, each story is a testament to bravery and sacrifice.

The memorial also commemorates Marines such as LCPL. John McCall from Rochester, who fell in Lebanon, and Capt. Philip J. Dykeman from Bernhards Bay, who served in Iraq. These names and the others listed represent the fortitude and dedication of those who served.

Navy personnel like PO3 Benjamin Johnson from Rochester and PO1 Michael Pernaselli from Brighton, who served in Kuwait and Iraq respectively, are also honored, alongside Air Force heroes like TSGT Timothy R. Weiner from Rochester.

Throughout their discussion, Hector and Amy conveyed the essence of the memorial and its importance to the community. The War on Terror Memorial Park, they agreed, serves as a living reminder of the sacrifices made by these individuals. It's not just a place of mourning but a place of honor, education, and reflection, where the stories of these heroes continue to inspire and educate future generations about the values of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism.

Ending with a note of solemn gratitude, reiterating the community's commitment to remembering and honoring the legacy of its heroes. The War on Terror Memorial, as discussed by Hector Sotomayor and Amy Fawlo, stands as a symbol of the community's unyielding respect and remembrance for those who have given their all in the name of freedom and security.

This episode continues the tradition of fostering thoughtful discussions on safeguarding the nation's core principles and the role individuals can play in upholding these values amidst changing political and social environments.
