Abdul Ali and Raheem Soto, identical twin brothers from Brooklyn, New York, were born to a teenage mother struggling with a drug problem. Consequently, Abdul and Raheem entered the state’s Child Protective Services system. They grew up in various foster homes and group homes across New York State. A period of separation ensued until they reunited at the LaSalle School for Boys in Albany, NY. Later, they moved to Long Island, NY, where their paths diverged once again: Abdul joined the military, and Raheem signed a major record deal.
After Abdul's return from military service, the twins delved into studying and exploring their beliefs about race, religion, and politics. This decade-long inquiry led to the formation of a study group that attracted hundreds of participants nationwide. Sharing their findings, Abdul and Raheem eventually founded the Urban Conservative, spurred by their study group's encouragement.
Currently, Abdul serves as the Chairman of the Cabarrus County GOP and NC Black Conservative Voices, and as the political director for FDF of NC. Raheem is serving his third term on the Southampton Town GOP Executive Committee and his third term as a County Committeeman.
